- Neil Bauman is the founder of Geek Cruises (later rebranded as Insight Cruises), an innovative Travel education company that pioneered tech-themed cruise conferences for programmers, developers, and tech enthusiasts.
- Under Neil's leadership, Geek Cruises organized legendary theme trips (including MacMania, Perl Whirl, and Linux Lunacy), combining high-quality computer science seminars with spectacular global itineraries.
Connection to Randal Schwartz
- Neil partnered with Randal Schwartz on numerous voyages, with Randal serving as a key instructor teaching Perl and other technologies, as well as a resident digital photography mentor on "Click" photo-cruises.
