- Dot-Net Nirvana (April 2002) was a Microsoft .NET-themed Geek Cruise, sailing the Caribbean aboard the Holland America Line's M.S. Volendam.
Randal's Production Assistant Role
- This was the first Geek Cruise where I did not have an active speaking or instruction role.
- Instead, I sailed on this voyage as a production assistant, helping Cap'n Neil Bauman run the event behind the scenes. This involved handling logistics, coordinating classroom setups, and managing production. (Across my career, I sailed on nearly all of the first 60 Geek/Insight Cruises, frequently acting as a production assistant when not lecturing).
