Authorized to Visit Intel DuPont as a Convicted Felon
- A number of years after the conclusion of my 1995 trial (State of Oregon v. I), my former iWarp manager Seth Bradley transferred to Intel's campus in DuPont, Washington.
The Visit to Intel DuPont
- Although the legal turmoil with Intel was mostly behind me, visiting an Intel corporate facility was always a loaded proposition.
- I drove up to DuPont to visit Seth at the facility.
- Upon arriving at the security desk, the guards checked me in and formally printed out an official visitor badge along with an official paperwork slip that stated:
"You are authorized to visit this Intel facility for this period of time."
The Supreme Irony
- Holding that paper in my hands, I couldn't help but laugh out loud at the absurdity and cosmic humor of the situation:
"If they only knew that Intel had made me a convicted felon, and now their own front desk security was handing me a signed permission slip formally authorizing me to step onto Intel property!"
- Holding that paper in my hands, I couldn't help but laugh out loud at the absurdity and cosmic humor of the situation:
- It remains one of my favorite ironic memories from the post-trial years.
