Mount St. Helens is an active stratovolcano located in Skamania County, Washington, in the Pacific Northwest region of the United States.
The volcano famously erupted on May 18, 1980, drastically altering its summit into a massive horseshoe-shaped crater.
During Randal's aviation days flying out of Hillsboro Airport, Mount St. Helens was a favorite destination for two-hour scenic lunch flights in a Cessna 172 with coworkers from Intel.
