    • On October 22, 2017, I reflected on the diverse people I chat with during my journeys.
    • Within a few hours of starting my day, I had spoken with a Lyft driver who used to work in software and recognized me, a woman claiming she had died nine times and wanted her story written, and a traveler concerned about political events in Washington, D.C.
    • While I enjoy these brief, colorful encounters, I noted that I still dislike the actual logistics of travel.
