The Washington County IED (Intermediate Education District, later reorganized into the Northwest Regional Education Service District / ESD) provided administrative, educational, and centralized computing services to school districts across Washington County, Oregon.
At age 15 (circa 1976/1977), I was hired by Washington County IED to write software in HP 2000 BASIC time-shared systems, marking the start of my professional software development career. See Gladstone Childhood, FOCAL on Lined Paper, and the Early Career Arc.
