Solo Cross-Country Flight
- An essential FAA milestone requirement under 14 CFR ยง 61.109 for earning a Private Pilot License.
- Student pilots must plan and execute a long solo cross-country flight of at least 150 nautical miles total distance, featuring full-stop landings at a minimum of three points, with one segment spanning at least 50 nautical miles straight-line distance.
- Flight instructors call ahead to air traffic control facilities along the route to notify them of the student solo flight.
