High-Performance Airplane Endorsement
- An FAA flight endorsement required for a pilot to act as Pilot in Command (PIC) of a "high-performance airplane"โdefined under 14 CFR ยง 61.31(f) as an aircraft with an engine of more than 200 horsepower.
- Requires dual flight instruction and a logbook endorsement covering engine power management (manifold pressure and RPM with constant-speed propellers), higher climb and descent rates, cowl flaps, and airspeed discipline.
- Randal earned this endorsement flying the 230-horsepower Cessna 182 Skylane at Eagle Flight Center.
