  • Servio-Logic Corporation (later renamed GemStone Systems) was a pioneering database software company based in Portland and Beaverton, Oregon.
  • The company was renowned for developing GemStone, one of the earliest commercial object-oriented database management systems (OODBMS) built around Smalltalk.
  • Randal Schwartz worked at Servio-Logic from June 1983 to March 1984 as system administrator (managing VMS with Unix toolsets) and internal toolsmith for a 30-person engineering team.
