Sequent Computer Systems
- Sequent Computer Systems was a pioneering computer hardware and software company founded in Beaverton, Oregon in 1983 by former Intel engineers.
- Sequent was among the earliest and most successful innovators in symmetric multiprocessing (SMP) multi-processor Unix computing systems (running the DYNIX and DYNIX/ptx operating systems).
- I worked at Sequent from March 1984 to July 1986 as Employee #64 (a power of 2!). I authored technical manuals for the initial multi-processor Unix product line and assisted QA with bug-tracking systems and unit testing. See Employee 64 at Sequent and Turning Self-Employed and Gladstone Childhood, FOCAL on Lined Paper, and the Early Career Arc.
