Day 8 was spent at our second Swedish port, the island of Gotland, and the city of Visby, apparently founded around 1100 AD, with a 2-mile wall still surrounding a part of the city.

In the morning, Bill Durrance took two field trips ashore for a photo expedition. I tagged along with the first, but opted out of the second, as my feet were getting sore from all the walking in the past few days.

Bill makes plans about hitting the city. "Go uphill first, so that when you're tired, you're coming back downhill."
