My trip to Helsinki (Finland) was laid back. I jumped off the ship
with Neil and his wife Theresa, and we hunted for our own adventure.
We wandered around the marketplace, looking for an American Express
place for Neil to cash his checks. Note to travelers: nobody
in all of Europe takes AMEX travellers checks. Nobody. Nada.
Just use a credit card, which every place takes, including the cabs.
We found this wonderful lunch cafe (of which I got no pictures,
oddly enough), and had a great meal, including a few beers.
Afterward, we got a taxi to guide us around for an hour or so (EUR 50
for the three of us) to see some odd sights.
While we were here, Neil and Theresa sent
Linus Torvalds a postcard, from his home city, to his new city in Oregon.
