My field trip for the day took me on a tour of the canals of St Petersburg, followed by a tour of the Romanov Imperial Castle, where Rasputin was killed.

One of the royals was a budding performer, but she couldn't exactly go out and join the local troupe. So they build an entire theatre in the palace. I think they said this was a scaled version of a real theatre.

It seems redundant to have the royalty box in a theatre that only the royals attended, but there it is!

The photos are copies of the original art, now hanging in a museum somewhere. The walls were apparently completely covered.
